Carnival in Primary School
On Thursday, February 18, the primary school celebrated Carnival.
The children arrived at school dressed in colourful costumes and were greeted with carnival music in the school yard. The atmosphere was very cheerful as all classes celebrated their own carnival party with their class teachers in the classrooms.
They played typical games such as musical chairs, the limbo and the balloon dance and all classes shared a delicious breakfast buffet. Afterwards, the whole primary school gathered in the sports hall and celebrated a big carnival party. There was lots of singing, dancing, playing and we danced a Polonaise throughout the whole school.
The people of Cologne would have been amazed at how well we can celebrate carnival in Sydney!

Carnival
Am Donnerstag, den 18. Februar hat die Grundschule Karneval gefeiert.
Bunt verkleidet kamen die Kinder morgens zur Schule und wurden gleich mit Karnevalsmusik auf dem Schulhof begrüßt. Die Stimmung war super als alle Klassen mit ihren Klassenlehrern ihre eigene Karnevalsparty im Klassenzimmer feierten.
Typische Spiele wie die Reise nach Jerusalem, Limbo oder Luftballontanz durften nicht fehlen und alle Klassen haben mit einem leckeren Mitbring-Buffet gemeinschaftlich gefrühstückt.
Anschließend hat sich die ganze Grundschule in der Sporthalle versammelt und eine große Karnevalsparty gefeiert. Es wurden Karnevalslieder gesungen, getanzt, gespielt und zum Höhepunkt eine Polonaise durch die ganze Schule gemacht.
Da hätten die Kölner gestaunt, wie toll wir auch in Sydney Karneval feiern können!
