swimming carnival years 3 to 6 in terrey hills
On February 19th, all students from Years 3 to 6 ventured to the Terrey Hills Swim School to participate in the swimming carnival. What was a wet day featuring freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly races pushed each and every student to their aquatic limits.
A special mention goes to all non-swimmers who were active in cheering on their classmates to make sure that everyone felt encouraged and motivated to swim their best!
A huge thank you to our dedicated Sports Coordinator, High Crundwell, for organising this fantastic event and to all the teachers who attended, and of course, a big thank you to all the parents who came along to cheer on their children.

Select students who performed strongly at the carnival were chosen to represent GISS at the IPSHA Swimming Carnival, an event where students from independent schools across NSW come together to compete in the pool.
Our GISS swimmers were able to experience a competitive atmosphere in Sydney's Olympic Pool with a large audience and plenty of cheering.
Fortunately, we came away with several ribbons from 1st to 3rd placed swimmers. A wonderful event and Go GISS!

klassen 3 bis 6
Am 19. Februar nahmen alle SchülerInnen der Klassen 3 bis 6 in derTerrey Hills Swim School, am Schwimmkarneval teil. An diesem nassen Tag, an dem Freistil-, Rücken-, Brust- und Schmetterlingswettkämpfe auf dem Programm standen, wurden alle an ihre gefordert.
Eine besondere Erwähnung gilt allen Nichtschwimmer-Innen, die ihre Klassenkameraden tatkräftig anfeuerten und so dafür sorgten, dass sich alle ermutigt und motiviert fühlten, ihr Bestes zu geben!
Ein großes Dankeschön an unseren engagierten Sportkoordinator Hugh Crundwell für die Organisation dieser tollen Events und an alle Lehrkräfte, die daran teilgenommen haben, und natürlich ein großes Dankeschön an alle Eltern, die gekommen sind, um ihre Kinder anzufeuern.

Einige SchülerInnen, die beim GISS Schwimmwettkampf gute Leistungen zeigten, haben die GISS beim IPSHA-Schwimmwettkampf vertreten, einer Veranstaltung, bei der SchülerInnen vieler Schulen aus ganz NSW zusammenkommen, um sich im Schwimmbecken zu messen.
Unsere GISS-SchwimmerInnen konnten die Wettkampf-atmosphäre im Olympic Pool von Sydney mit einem großen Publikum und viel Anfeuerung erleben.
Erfreulicherweise konnten wir mehrere Preise für die Plätze 1 bis 3 mit nach Hause nehmen. Eine wunderbare Veranstaltung. Auf geht's GISS!
