Both the Junior and Senior Choirs have recorded a video, to be sent to the International Choir Festival Solingen and shown in their final concert on 7th October. Along with live performances by local German choirs, GISS’s video (and a live zoom interview with Janine Boubbov) will be shown, along with those of countries from all around the globe, including Indonesia, Japan, Ukraine, Namibia and Brazil, to name just a few. We are all very excited to be participating in this festival, from a distance! Many thanks to Franziska McCarthy for being our videographer and editor – we can’t wait to see ourselves on the other side of the world!!

Our GISS Choirs have been busy this term!

On Wednesday 20th September, the GISS Senior Choir participated in our annual Interschool Choral Festival, which was held at the Sydney Japanese International School in Terrey Hills. Our Senior Choir joined with the SJIS and John Colet School to enjoy an afternoon of shared singing, learning and performing, culminating in a short concert for parents at the end of the session. It was a truly enjoyable experience for all, reminding us of all of the ability of music to bring people together and fill us with joy.
