Hi everyone, thank you so much for the warm welcome to GISS! I’m happy to be part of the team.

My name is Justin Chaplin and I’m an Australian who’s been living in Zürich Switzerland since COVID19 stranded there with my Swiss wife six years ago. Not a bad place to get stranded in my opinion! My mother tongue is English, but don’t worry, I also have my B1 in German and I’m working on my B2 certificate. During my time there I worked as a principal of a small bilingual school in a small town called Regensdorf.

After six years however, it was time to let me Swiss wife experience the beach for the first time in her life, and be a little closer to my family in Sydney. This is why four weeks ago my wife and I moved to the Northern Beaches and I’m ready to teach these primary school kiddies some English! I can't wait to get back into the classroom again.

For now, I’ll be teaching all over the school as a casual teacher wherever I’m needed, and from Term One in 2027, I’ll be one of the English teachers in the Primary School!
